AC Repair · Fresno

AC Problems Don't Get Better in Fresno Heat.

When cooling starts slipping, it rarely recovers on its own. ComfortPeak diagnoses residential air conditioning problems and explains the practical repair options before any work begins.

Symptoms

Signs your air conditioning needs attention.

You do not need to identify the cause. Noticing the change is enough to make the call worthwhile.

  • Inadequate cooling: the house drifts above the thermostat setting
  • Warm air coming from the supply vents while the system runs
  • Unusual noises such as rattling, buzzing, clicking or grinding
  • Cycling problems: turning on and off frequently or running constantly
  • Weak airflow at some or all registers
  • The system does not respond at the thermostat or will not start
  • Moisture or ice where neither belongs

What happens during diagnosis

A technician starts with what you have noticed, then checks the system as a whole: thermostat operation and controls, filter and airflow, the indoor blower and coil, the outdoor unit, electrical components, and how the system performs while running.

Once the cause is clear, you get a plain explanation of what failed and what the repair involves. Nothing gets replaced because it was easier than looking further.

Repair considerations

Fixing the cause, not the symptom.

Cooling problems tend to have more than one plausible explanation, so the repair follows the diagnosis rather than the guess.

Airflow and filtration

Restricted airflow shows up as weak cooling and can stress the rest of the system. Filters, blowers, coils and ductwork all play a part.

Electrical and controls

Capacitors, contactors, wiring and thermostat behavior are common sources of a system that starts unreliably or not at all.

Refrigerant circuit

Cooling capacity depends on a correctly charged, leak-free circuit. Charge is measured rather than assumed, and leaks are found rather than topped off indefinitely.

Drainage and moisture

Condensate drains and pans get inspected, since blockages can shut a system down or cause damage nearby.

When replacement comes up

Sometimes the better conversation is a new system.

If a system is older, has needed repeated repairs, or the necessary repair is large relative to the equipment, replacement is worth putting on the table.

That is a conversation, not a sales pitch. We will tell you what the repair would involve and what replacement would mean, and you decide from there.

After the repair

Keeping the system steady.

Many cooling repairs trace back to something that routine maintenance would have caught: a dirty coil, a restricted filter, a drain starting to clog, a component drifting out of spec. After a repair we will point out what is worth watching and when a seasonal tune-up makes sense.
